Sr Advanced Systems Engineer

Canonsburg, PA

Contract Position

$64.24-$69.24/Hour

Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains.

Responsibilities:

• Perform requirements analysis, management, and functional and performance analysis, as well as system architecture, design, and integration with minimal supervision.
• Lead verification, validation, and interface definition studies for systems, subsystems, and system elements.
• Collaborate with the Chief Engineer to make critical decisions on architecture, design, and technology, ensuring alignment with customer requirements.
• Allocate system requirements to subsystems, elements, and components, working with cross-functional teams to ensure performance and deployment readiness.
• Develop and present test strategies, plans, and results to internal and external stakeholders.
• Support hardware/software setup, configuration, and documentation, including software loading onto multiple devices.
• Drive cost-effective procedures for testing and troubleshooting components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and systems.
• Contribute to failure investigations, failure review board (FRB) meetings, and formal system acceptance testing activities.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or related field (Science, Engineering, or Mathematics).
• Experience: Minimum of 8 years of job-related experience in systems engineering.
• Clearance: Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.
• Demonstrated expertise in system-level requirements definition, design, and testing.
• Proven leadership in complex, multidisciplinary engineering projects and mentoring teams.
• Strong proficiency in systems engineering strategies, principles, and tools.
• Experience with developing and documenting test plans, procedures, traceability, and reports.
• Skilled in failure analysis and troubleshooting across hardware and software systems.

Preferred Skills:

• Strategic and architectural vision for system design and performance optimization.
• Strong technical acumen with a proven ability to manage cost, schedule, and risk in planning and execution.
