Location: Salem, Oregon

Days: Monday - Friday

Hours: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Company: Sonic Anatomic Pathology

In this role, you will:

  • Perform a vital part of the patient care process through examining prepared slides with the microscope to detect evidence of abnormalities
  • Report negative Pap Test cases and refers abnormal cases to the pathologists for review
  • May read Non-GYN specimens and report findings to the pathologists for final diagnosis
  • Document for each 24-hour period, the total number of slides examined or reviewed in the laboratory or for any other employer.
  • Document the number of hours spent examining slides in each 24-hour period.
  • Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment
  • Champion safety, compliance, and quality control

All you need is:
  • Graduation from an accredited school of cytology
  • Cytotechnologist certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists
  • Will possess critical thinking, complex problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to operate general laboratory equipment and have basic computer skills.
