Arranges for the efficient andorderly admission of inpatients and admission of individuals who havehospital-based outpatient testing or procedures. Ensures that the patient information iscollected and that patients are aware of hospital policies and procedures. Interviews incoming patient or representativesand enters information required for admission into computer database. Distributes appropriate information toancillary departments. Participates inperformance improvement and CQI activities
Qualifications
Ability to read, write andspeak English required (additional languages a plus). Effective interpersonalskills. Analytical ability for numbers and situations. Ability to type 40 wpm.
Familiaritywith medical billing; managed care and other medical insurance.
Previousoffice experience or training with exposure to keyboard, computer and other officeequipment required, preferably in a medical setting. Previous experience ortraining in customer service required.
AssociateDegree in business or related field preferred
