Description: Our client is currently seeking a Zero Trust Engineer for a Full Time, Hybrid opportunity in Mclean, VA.

Zero Trust Identity and Access Management Specialist

As an Identity and Access Management (IAM) Subject Matter Expert, you'll play a critical role in securing our IT infrastructure and access controls by implementing Zero Trust principles aligned with government clients. In this position, you'll collaborate with stakeholders and engineering teams to understand critical processes and user roles. Your responsibilities include:

• Designing, implementing, and maintaining a Zero Trust security posture across IT infrastructure and IAM systems.
• Conducting security assessments to identify vulnerabilities in existing infrastructure and access controls.
• Developing and implementing Zero Trust principles, including network segmentation, micro-perimeters, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Just-in-Time (JIT) access, and Principle of Least Privilege (POLP).
• Configuring and managing infrastructure security tools (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems) and IAM solutions (e.g., identity providers, access control systems, user provisioning tools).
• Integrating Zero Trust principles into infrastructure and application security policies.
• Creating comprehensive security documentation, including policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Staying up-to-date on the latest Zero Trust advancements and industry best practices.
• Educating and training internal stakeholders on Zero Trust concepts and security best practices.

Qualifications:

• 1+ years of experience in IT infrastructure security or IAM administration.
• Experience with designing and implementing security solutions for network, system, and application security.
• Familiarity with administering and managing IAM solutions (e.g., Active Directory, Azure AD).
• Knowledge of Zero Trust principles, frameworks, and the Zero Trust Maturity Model.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Nice to Have:
  

• Experience with cloud-based infrastructure and IAM solutions.
• Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST CSF and MITRE ATT&CK.
• Knowledge of security automation and orchestration tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical and critical thinking abilities.
• Certifications like CISSP, Security+, or CCNA Security.
