Basic Job Functions:

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

• Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures. Attend safety meetings and participate in safety program.
• Responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding and weld finishing.
• Fit and weld in various positions (including overhead welding) on aluminum, stainless steel, steel and pipe.
• Torch cutting, lay-out and fitting.
• Assist in maintaining plant equipment through preventive maintenance program. Equipment includes but not limited to conveyors, magnets, eddy current, air compressors, vibratory feeders, mobile equipment and electrical systems.
• Understand environmental policies and maintain a clean work environment as it pertains to our policies and procedures.
• Willing to cross-train in other positions and assist other employees as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by your manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Acetylene Torch Cutting. Plasma Cutting
• MIG Welding
• Stick Welding using 7018
• Band Saw
• Be self-motivated
• Demonstrated ability to plan work and have good English skills
• Ability to read and understand welding procedures preferred
