Job Description:

Objective

The Survey Instrument Operator is responsible for assisting the survey party chief in managing the activities of survey throughout various job locations.

Job Duties

Complete tasks utilizing survey instruments and equipment per the direction of the Survey Party Chief Maintain and properly care for survey instruments and equipment Maintain a highly organized work area and manage multiple projects simultaneously Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Other unlisted duties will be assigned

Qualifications

Two (2) or more years or experience as a Survey Instrument Operator in heavy highway and bridge projects Previous experience with Trimble, Topcon Total Stations, and other survey instruments Be able to communicate in English via verbal and written communications Moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative nature. Some exposure to outdoors with changing weather conditions such as rain, sun, snow, and wind Ability to physically maneuver by foot minor obstacles at construction projects Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers
