If you enjoy leading a team of highly effective individuals in a fast-paced, high-energy work environment and have the capacity to positively influence and drive a culture of safety-first attitudes, then you will thrive as the Warehouse Supervisor at our Fort Madison, IA production facility.
What you'll do in this role:
- Directly support a workforce of approximately 50 hourly full-time forklift and yard jockey operators and 2 support leads across a multi shift operation.
- Communicate, implement and monitor safety programs and procedures. Participate and perform investigations and provide detailed documentation as it pertains to safety incidents, including root causes and corrective actions. Administer powered industrial vehicle training program and annual re-training sessions for the local site.
- Positively influence a culture of teamwork leading through others and engaging with associates on process improvements and eliminating roadblocks in day to day activities with a strong focus on servant leadership and continuous improvement.
- Develop associates, interview and recommend hiring of applicants, evaluate associate work performance, coach and counsels associates and/or implements disciplinary action.
- Plan, direct and oversee forklift operating teams responsible for the loading, unloading, hauling and supplying functions of the warehouse operation supporting our liquid production lines and other departments in the plant.
- Provide daily schedules and direction; communicate targets and expectations for warehouse tasks. Encouraging flexibility and re-prioritizing own and team tasks when needed to support different functions of the plant. Emphasis on labor utilization.
- Develop key warehouse metrics that will impact performance and efficiencies and deliver world-class service to internal and external customers.
- Establishes labor models, performs absence tracking, process and approves time off via Workday systems. Execute and enforce regulatory, company and/or plant, procedures, and/or policies.
- Create, execute and administer programs and procedures for preventative maintenance, lease programs and unplanned maintenance of warehouse equipment such as Forklifts, Yard Jockeys, Dock Equipment and Inventory Management Equipment.
What you'll need to be successful:
- A Bachelor's degree preferably in a manufacturing related or supporting field is highly desired.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite and experience with SAP preferred.
- Experience in a supervisory or lead role is highly desired, specific experience in associate development, team building and multishift direct reports.
- Working knowledge of all facets of manufacturing including safety, associate relations, quality, and customer service.
- Background in continuous improvement, project management or education of lean concepts.
- Good oral and written communication skills and strong leadership skills are required.
- Flexibility in schedule to ensure presence and interaction with all shifts of direct team members.
- Must be able to effectively multi-task, problem solve in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to manage, motivate and train others to achieve required goals.
The starting budgeted pay range for this role will generally fall between $75,000.00 - $88,200.00 per year. Scotts will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.
