The Vice President of Human Resources plays a critical role in the regional executive leadership team, focused on developing and executing human resources strategies that drive a high-performance culture and organizational excellence. This position serves as a business partner and is responsible for workforce planning, talent optimization, and fostering a results-driven environment aligned with Vertiv's long-term objectives. By promoting leadership development, continuous improvement, and employee accountability, the VP of HR ensures the organization stays agile and competitive, empowering teams to consistently deliver at the highest levels.

Scope: ~9,000 employees, ~90 HR team members, 8 manufacturing/assembly locations. Region includes USA, Canada, Mexico and Latin America.

This role will be located at our America's Offices in Westerville, Ohio.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Business Partner: Demonstrates strong business acumen with a deep understanding of industry trends, market dynamics, organizational structure, and financial principles to align HR strategies with overall business goals.
  • Strategic Workforce Planning: Formulate and execute long-term workforce strategies to ensure the organization has the skills, capabilities, and agility required to meet future business objectives. Align talent planning with evolving market demands and organizational priorities.
  • Executive Leader & Coach: Serve as a key strategic advisor to the Americas Region President and executive leadership, driving alignment between HR and the company's overall business strategy. Collaborate with America's executive leadership team to ensure HR initiatives directly contribute to achieving business goals and long-term growth.
  • Talent Acquisition & Retention Strategy: Develop high-impact strategies to attract, hire, and retain top-tier talent, fostering a competitive edge. Implement robust succession planning frameworks to ensure leadership continuity, mitigate risk, and drive organizational stability through transitions.
  • Organizational Development & Change Leadership: Spearhead organizational design and change leadership initiatives that drive business transformation, enabling the organization to swiftly adapt to shifting market conditions and growth opportunities. Lead restructuring efforts to optimize performance and operational efficiency. Be a change agent
  • Leadership Development & Succession Planning: Partner with Global Talent team on offering comprehensive leadership development programs that align with future business needs, ensuring a strong pipeline of capable leaders. Build strategic career pathways that enhance internal mobility and drive leadership growth from within.
  • Culture & Employee Engagement: Cultivate a high-performance, forward-thinking culture that promotes Vertiv's behaviors: Own It, Act With Urgency, Foster a Customer First Mindset, Think Big & Execute, Lead by Example, Drive Continuous Improvement and Learn & Seek Out Development. Design and execute engagement strategies that enhance workforce productivity, morale, retention, and driving organizational performance.
  • HR Analytics & Data-Driven Decision-Making: Leverage advanced HR analytics and predictive metrics to inform strategic decisions. Analyze talent, retention, diversity, and performance KPIs to drive continuous improvement and align HR outcomes with business success.
  • HR Technology & Digital Transformation: Lead the adoption of cutting-edge HR technologies that enhance operational efficiency, improve employee experience, and deliver data-driven insights. Role model adoption and utilization of digital transformation initiatives that position HR as a strategic enabler of business innovation.
  • Risk Management & Compliance: Oversee risk management strategies, ensuring the organization is proactive in mitigating legal, regulatory, and reputational risks. Be forward thinking to ensure Americas offers up-to-date HR policies that safeguard compliance and position for sustainable success.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field (Master's or MBA preferred)
  • 10+ years of experience in HR leadership roles with a focus on strategic planning
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing HR strategies that align with business goals
  • Expertise in HR analytics, workforce planning, and organizational development
  • Strong understanding of labor laws, compliance, and risk management
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills
  • Experience working with C-suite executives and driving change at the enterprise level
