VICE PRESIDENT FOR MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS

Lander University (LU) is seeking a Vice President for Marketing and Communications (VPMC). In 2016, the new president, Dr. Richard Cosentino, launched a new mission statement and strategic plan, setting LU on an academic and administrative course that is resulting in significant growth and success across the entire University. Currently serving nearly 5,000 students, LU is one of the fastest-growing institutions of higher education in South Carolina. Continued growth is anticipated, with future projections trending upwards to 10,000 students in the next four years.

Reporting to the President, the next VPMC will be a dynamic and visionary leader who will provide the vision, strategy, and oversight for all marketing and communications functions. They will develop and implement an integrated strategy for the marketing and communication efforts of the University and bring a strategic, proactive approach to leading the Office of Strategic Marketing and Communications to tell the University's story compellingly. A key priority of this position is to raise the profile of the LU across South Carolina and the Southeast and to support the priorities and initiatives of the University.

Candidates must have a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years of executive-level leadership in marketing, communication, and branding. The ideal candidate will have experience and understanding of brand management, digital marketing, social media communications, recruitment marketing, and fundraising communications. They will have experience aligning and implementing a comprehensive University strategy for marketing and communications and excellent leadership, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills.
