The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts DistributionofCat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurementand thedesign andmanufactureof Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

Job Summary
The Transportation Analyst manages the Transportation Service Provider services provided by Caterpillar contracted service providers for the shipment of Caterpillar components and machines domestically and overseas.

  • 5-15% travel expected with this role
What You Will Do
  • Oversee the end to end transportation of Prime Product orders to North America dealers
  • Provide oversight to Trade Lane Analysts in support of dealer delivery requirements and overall experience
  • Work effectively with diverse, multi-functional teams to apply the supply chain planning process and lead team efforts to develop optimal order-delivery transportation flow
  • Establish metrics to ensure the most effective methods are implemented in reducing in-transit inventory and eliminating waste in the transportation process
  • Conduct regular governance and performance updates for dealers within assigned Trade Lane
  • Identify and execute process improvements and cost mitigation and savings within the Trade Lane, benefiting the dealers, product group, and customers
  • Establish relationships within the multi-modal transportation network, compliant with the Caterpillar Code of Conduct

  • Analytical Thinking : Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking : Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Problem Solving : Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Relationship Management : Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
  • Microsoft Outlook experience (Excel)

  • Transportation : Knowledge of and experience with the means of transporting materials and goods to and from suppliers, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities and customers the manufacturing facility.
  • Logistics Management : Knowledge of the processes, tools and operational considerations for effective and efficient movement of goods and materials; ability to understand, predict and control the movement of goods, materials and supplies.
  • PowerBI / Tableau / Data Analytics experience
  • BlueYonder / Sales Force experience
