The E S Transport Associate assists patient therapy in getting them back into the community doing the things they love and need to do daily. The E.S. Transportation Associate continually seeks ways to improve the appearance of Shepherd Pathways, properly maintaining the building.
Valid GA Drives license with insurable MVR required.

  • Ensures that the Pathways Gordy and Residential building are clean and orderly, and transports Pathways clients as needed and scheduled.
  • Thoroughly cleans assigned areas per guidelines and standards.
  • Transports clients, families and/or staff to and from Pathways, community settings and doctor's appointments in a professional and safe manner abiding by rule of road at all times.
  • When driving in the community, contacts clients/caregivers when arrival or departure time changes or notify of unusual occurrences.
  • Tracks cleaning and paper supplies daily in the Gordy and Residential Building.
    -Surveys both Gordy and Residential building for burnt out lights and replaces them.
  • Orders light bulbs as needed.
  • Inspects fire extinguishers monthly.
  • Inspects eye wash stations weekly.
  • Performs plumbing tasks, troubleshoots HVAC issues, and other maintenance issues.
  • Demonstrates proper use and care of all environmental services equipment.
  • Practices positive and engaging professional behavior.
  • Respects patient's privacy and confidentiality with every interaction as per HIPAA regulations.
  • Adheres to patient/family centered principles using the communication and engagement tools (OARS/AIDECT).
  • Performs consistent with Shepherd Center standards, clinical policies, and procedures.
  • Ensures appropriate usage of supplies.
  • Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with Center and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.
  • Performs other duties as required/requested/assigned.
REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
REQUIRED MINIMUM CERTIFICATION
  • BLS required.
REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
  • Commercial cleaning experience.
  • On the job training will be provided.
REQUIRED MINIMUM SKILLS
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be eligible to be insured by Shepherd's insurance carrier.
  • Must be able to read, write communicate and understand English.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
  • Must be organized, efficient, and able to work independently and/or in a team setting.
  • Completes orientation and initial assessment of competency successfully by determined due date.
  • Completes mandatory education and annual competency assessment requirements by determined due date.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Normal patient care environment.
  • Some potential for exposure to blood and body fluids.
  • Some potential exposure to infectious diseases.
