ECS is seeking a Telecom Technician to work in our Pittsburgh, PA office. Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award.
Job Description:
ECS is seeking a qualified Telecom Technician to support transformative science and technology solutions for the Department of Energy.
The candidate should be a self-starter with excellent organization, administrative, and interpersonal skills able to meet or exceed customer expectations with minimal supervision or direction.
The candidate will be responsible for:
- Supporting the VoIP telephony infrastructure
- Level 2 support of operational issues for VoIP, traditional voice, and data systems
- Technical leadership, architectural design, project management, and deployment of Cisco VoIP solutions
- Supporting technical projects to reduce cost, improve service, or provide innovative business solutions consistent with the OIG business strategies
- Engineering design, configuration management, deployment, installation, maintenance, and upgrade of VoIP solutions (both software applications and network hardware)
- Installation of Cisco Call Manager software, hardware setup & testing, remote monitoring, scripting, and integration with other enterprise applications
Daily job duties may include:
Organize and direct network installations on site surveys. Assess and document current site network configuration and user requirements. Design and optimize network topologies. Direct and lead preparation of engineering plans and site installation Technical Design Packages. Develop installation schedules. Mobilize network installation team. Direct and lead preparation of drawings documenting configuration changes at each site. Prepare site installation and test reports. Coordinate post installation operations and maintenance support.
Required Skills: - Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret or DOE Q clearance throughout the life of the contract
- Must be a US Citizen
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field, AND two years of Unified Communications/Voice Over Internet Protocol (UC/VoIP) experience
OR - Associate's Degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field, AND four years of Unified Communications/Voice Over Internet Protocol (UC/VoIP) experience
OR - Six years of Unified Communications/Voice Over Internet Protocol (UC/VoIP) experience
- Must currently live in Pittsburgh, PA or willing to relocate
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- 3+ years of experience performing VoIP administration, general telephony engineering, and technical project management
- 2 years' Cisco Call Manager a must (Managing and administrating the enterprise)
Desired Skills: - Two or more years experience supporting US Government customers
- Project Management Professional certification
- Experience supporting complex government and programs of a research and development nature
- CCNA
- Understanding Circuit types
- Knowledge of Cable structure
- Video Conferencing experience
- Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM)
