Structures & Manufacturing Technician II - A

Merritt Island, FL

Contract Position

Responsibilities:

  • Setup and operate precision tools such as torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and optical measuring instruments to perform assembly and manufacturing tasks.
  • Interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, and test procedures to ensure accurate assembly and fabrication.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, ensuring clear and effective communication both in writing and in person.
  • Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, overhead cranes, and aerial lifts as needed.
  • Perform repetitive tasks, including climbing ladders and lifting items up to 35 lbs, in small and restricted areas.
  • Support rotating shifts, including off-shift hours (2nd or 3rd), extended hours, and weekends as required.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience:
    • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, assembly, and fabrication.
    • Basic digital literacy (Windows, Microsoft Office).
  • Clearance: Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident (Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted refugee/asylee.
  • Desired Skills:
    • Experience using hand drills, power feed drills (PFD), track drills, and Jiffy/E-Tech tools.
    • Knowledge of drill speeds, feeds, and proper tool use for various materials (aluminum, titanium, Inconel, composite stacks).
    • Experience applying sealants, adhesives, paints, and primers.
    • Ability to manage flight and non-flight hardware.
    • Experience in handling large aerospace components and assembling tight-tolerance structures.
    • Certification in Lean Manufacturing or relevant industry certifications.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and a continuous improvement mindset.
