Insulation / Painting Technician I- C

Contract Position

Responsibilities:

• Apply thermal protection systems (TPS), including surface preparation, adhesive application, gap filling, and vacuum bagging on large aerospace structures.
• Operate test facilities and ground support equipment, working with engineers to improve facility designs and procedures.
• Work with hazardous chemicals and high-pressure systems, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Inspect completed products for conformance to specifications, identifying defects as necessary.
• Follow and improve work instructions related to safety, quality, and process efficiency.
• Support scheduled work shifts, including overtime and weekends as needed.

Qualifications:

• Education: High School diploma or GED.
• Experience:
  • 2+ years of experience in aerospace thermal protection applications.
  • Expertise in one or more areas: primer/topcoat application, foam insulation, conversion coating, sealant applications, adhesive bonding, vacuum bagging, and thermal blankets.
• Skills:
  • Knowledge of safety protocols for handling chemicals.
  • Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, and work instructions.
  • Basic computer literacy (Windows, Microsoft Office).
  • Physical ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift items over 50 lbs.
• Clearance: Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee/asylee.
• Desired Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience with aerospace thermal protection systems or coatings.
  • Industry certification, trade school training, or a related degree.
  • Experience with new product introduction and large aerospace components.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
