The Role:

Reporting to the Infrastructure Engineering Manager, The Systems Administrator will have practical, hands-on experience with IT system and infrastructure design and management in an enterprise environment. This role is expected to provide strong technical leadership and relevant recommendations regarding the design, implementation, and support of the enterprise environment. This environment includes approximately 3000 staff members located in more than 60 offices across the globe. Heidrick & Struggles currently utilizes a number of third-party organizations to provide Helpdesk and Level 1-3 support. The candidate will be expected to interact with these organizations on an on-going basis to ensure that as-implemented systems and technology is aligned and does not negatively impact the business. The candidate will also be required to provide a high level of technical expertise and leadership on an as-needed basis for the rest of the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Manage and maintain regular OS and application level patches and upgrades.
  • Take ownership of device management and application deployment infrastructure (MECM/Intune).
  • Manage and support Office 365 services including Exchange Online and Teams.
  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software systems.
  • Active Directory and Group Policy management, design, development, and troubleshooting .
  • Collaborate with our IT Deskside Support team to resolve user issues in a timely manner.
  • Manage and maintain SSL Certificates across multiple web environments (IIS, Azure, AWS, Java).
  • Produce and maintain documentation in an accurate and timely manner including but not limited to system maintenance, system builds, knowledge base articles, architectural diagrams for all computer systems
  • Provide timely and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders including incident progress statuses and updates, notification of impending changes or planned outages
  • Prioritize work efforts based on intelligent assessment of risk.
  • Automate infrastructure application processes including but not limited to reporting and monitoring.
  • Ability to contribute to the development and refinement of Heidrick & Struggles technology roadmaps by proactively assessing current technology capabilities against current and emerging business needs.
  • Ensure proper protection and use of software, including virus protection. Establish proactive vulnerability identification and remediation capabilities for hosted applications and infrastructure, reducing current level of effort and risk.
  • Support VDI infrastructure including Window 365 and Amazon Workspaces

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent required, preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Attention to detail, strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills.
  • Energetic team player who works well across boundaries and readily adapts to change and enjoys rapid development.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience providing end-user support.
  • Strong knowledge with Windows operating systems.
  • Familiarity with Linux and macOS.
  • Knowledge of best practices within Active Directory.
  • Experience with Group Policy management.
  • Basic knowledge of virtualization (Hyper-V, ESXI) and cloud (Azure, AWS) technologies.
  • General understanding of full-stack IT: *nix, Windows, GPO, hardware, network/firewall concepts, public and private cloud services, LDAP/Active Directory, virtualization.
  • Device Management and Software Deployment (MECM, Intune).
  • Patch and Vulnerability Management. (WSUS, MECM, Intune).
  • VDI (Window 365, Windows Virtual Desktop, Amazon Workspaces)
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking and network services such as DNS, SMTP, DHCP, etc.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements, such as SOX, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Any relevant certifications (e.g. CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft related certificates).
  • Experience with shell scripting is strongly preferred.
  • Identity and Access Management (Okta).
  • Understanding linkages between networks, applications, and systems.
  • Experience in designing, implementing, and securing applications, environments, and servers.
  • Experience designing & implementing global solutions with a focus on performance & accessibility
