Your Opportunity as the Receiving Supervisor

Location: Columbus, GA

Report To: Shipping and Receiving Manager

Work Arrangements: 100% on-site

In this role you will:

• Lead Receiving team members to support production at the Columbus manufacturing location.

• Build capability in receiving team leaders and technicians to deliver key business results and drive department/plant improvements

• Responsible for engaging the team in meeting safety, quality, production, and cost savings targets for their area by:

o Develop and maintain scorecard metrics and review progress with leadership; understand gaps and develop action plans accordingly

o Ensure key performance indicators are established for teams and the results are communicated routinely

• Drive high-performance work culture by engaging with team members on the floor and coaching to problem solve, make decisions, and become self-reliant.

• Partner with Shipping and Receiving Manager to develop and deliver department master plan, including key organizational projects

• Self-starter with outside the box thinking to develop ideas and coach team members on planning and execution

• Understand vendor management tools (scorecard, KPIs) and ability to develop such tools with the service vendor providers

• Address gaps in department performance through the implementation and effective coaching of Smucker Continuous Improvement methodologies; foster a zero-loss culture

• Responsible for ensuring department issues are driven to root cause and eliminated

• Understand company policies and procedures and apply consistently across your teams; administer any necessary discipline

• Oversee training and qualification programs for designated line/area; participate in assessments, ensure effective training, and maintain consistent qualification standards

• Translate complex information into easily understandable messages to facilitate clear communication and expectations

• Embrace change and build team buy-in to new initiatives and improvements

• Manage time and attendance for designated line/area (including payroll approval)

• Provide performance-based feedback to team leaders and technicians, including annual Performance Appraisals

• Model the Basic Beliefs and Our Commitment to Each Other

• Assist in executing plant start up commissioning, qualification, and verification (CQV) activities

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Background in logistics, supply chain, or Distribution Center is required
• Previous manufacturing experience is required, food manufacturing preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of experience leading, supervising, or managing others is required

• Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule that most effectively supports the organization
• Willingness to work off-shifts or weekends as needed
