Sr. Specialist, Menu Operations

The Sr Analyst, Menu Operations role will be an integral part of the growing Restaurant Excellence team, where we are working to ensure CAVA's new menu items, menu simplification initiatives, and food innovation programs are easy for our restaurants to execute consistently. This role will be the primary Operations contact for menu-related tests and will coordinate testing as well as gather feedback by working closely with our Field Operations teams. The Menu Operations Specialist will be responsible for operationally refining these menu-related programs to prepare them for potential national rollout to our 300 restaurants.

What You'll Do:

  • Own operational ease-of-execution perspectives and recommendations for proposed menu initiatives (including innovation, simplification, and renovation programs)
  • Lead coordination of field testing for menu initiatives, including selecting restaurants, hosting kickoff meetings trainings, facilitating feedback roundtables and managing ongoing test communications
  • Partner with field leaders and restaurant team members to gather qualitative and quantitative feedback for menu initiatives
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional partners (including Culinary, Brand, Supply Chain, Learning Development, Ops Integration, etc), restaurant teams, and/or external vendors throughout project lifecycles
  • Leverage test data collected to provide actionable insights that balance business priorities with operations' ability to execute
  • Ensure appropriate methodology, measurements, tools and quantitative techniques (e.g. data collection, time studies) are applied in menu initiative projects
  • Confidently present learnings and recommendations to Leaders and Restaurant field teams
  • Abide by policies and procedures that support the service mindset
  • Manage timeline expectations within and across teams, deliver on our responsibilities accordingly
  • Earn the trust of Team Members and Managers by consistently embracing CAVA's values
  • Drive strategic roadmap and lead multiple operational initiatives from the concept phase to national launch
  • Present program feedback throughout testing and use findings to make necessary adjustments for optimal national execution
The Qualifications:

  • Located in the DMV Area
  • 3 years of project management experience within restaurant, hospitality, or retail operations.
  • Experience managing menu innovation, renovation, or simplification through an ops lense preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • A passion for food and customer service!
  • Demonstrated experience of combining logical thinking and problem-solving skills to influence, improve, and optimize projects
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to navigate conflict through productive conversations
  • Experience leading tests and fine-tuning programs for scalability
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently, multi-task, and adapt to change in a fast-paced, rapidly growing brand
  • Willingness to learn about all aspects of Operations, including frequently visiting CAVA restaurants, working in CAVA restaurants, and partnering closely with our Operations Field Teams
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% of the time
Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to maintain stationary position to be able to operate a computer and other office equipment
Must be able to identify, analyze and assess details

  • For certain positions, must be able to occasionally move or transport items up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to communicate with others and exchange information accurately and effectively
  • Constantly positions self and move about to support ordinary restaurant or food production support or office operations, as applicable
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
