Preference will be given to candidates that have proven experience with multiple imaging modalities, such as ultrasound, IVIS, micro CT/PET-CT or MRI.
Summary of the group
We are looking for a Senior Scientist with experience in rodent imaging techniques to join our in vivo pharmacology team in Gaithersburg. Respiratory and Immunology is one of AstraZeneca's key therapeutic areas and our aim is to transform the lives of patients with chronic inflammatory and autoimmune diseases including atopic dermatitis, arthritis and lupus (SLE), as well as lung conditions such as asthma and COPD.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
We expect you to be a strong in vivo scientist with experience in inflammation biology and the application of in vivo imaging techniques to visualize and quantify the therapeutic impact of novel treatments. You will have outstanding drive for innovation and idea generation and a proven ability to work across multiple projects with diverse global teams. This role will support in vivo teams through all phases of the pipeline from early target validation to ongoing drug projects.
Education & Experience Requirements:
Master's degree with 5 years direct experience complemented with an extensive proven track record of in vivo work using imaging techniques in mice
PhD +3 years direct experience with an extensive proven track record of in vivo work using imaging techniques in mice
