Position Type: Salary + Bonus
Compensation: $50,000 - $55,000
Reports To: Executive Chef
Title: Sous Chef

Job Summary
The Sous Chef is a culinary leader responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations. This role demands exceptional culinary skills, strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality, cleanliness, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in high-volume restaurant environments.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and quality control.
  • Manage and develop the kitchen team through recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef in menu development, cost control, and special event planning.
  • Ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation regulations, including EcoSure compliance.
  • Maintain inventory levels, control food costs, and optimize kitchen efficiency.
  • Assume the role of Executive Chef in their absence.
Qualifications
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of culinary experience, including supervisory roles.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • In-depth knowledge of food cost control, inventory management, and purchasing.
  • Proficiency in food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Working Conditions
  • Days and hours of work vary by schedule and business needs
  • Evening, weekend, and holiday work will be required
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand for long periods of time, to walk, read, hear, talk, balance, climb, use hands, use fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, smell, taste, push or pull. The employee may be required to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
