Job Description

Individual performs a variety of sample accession responsibilities in compliance with appropriate SOPs and regulatory guidelines, in support of departmental operations.

  • Performs any combination of sample accession tasks including: opening, entering, tracking, labeling, shipping and disposition of stability samples. Reviews sample inventory against samples to ensure accuracy and communicate discrepancies. Communicates confirmation of sample receipt to clients, if appropriate.
  • Responsible for the coordination of sample movement to and from stability chambers.
  • Ability to enter detailed stability studies into all of the appropriate Laboratory Information System(NIMS), both Food and Dietary Supplements with high degree of accuracy. Special projects, as needed.
  • Understanding of any regulations required for the accurate execution stability studies. To include but not limited to: Good Laboratory Practices, Good Manufacturing Practices and ISO.
  • Assists with coordination and/or handling of all chamber-related activities including but not limited to: monitoring, environmental data review, alarm response, maintenance, chamber repairs, and logbook accuracy.
  • Informs Study Director and/or management of any problems and/or deviations that may affect the integrity of the study and recommends corrective action.
  • Assists in supplying clients with information on Eurofins' scientific capabilities and the technical and administrative support services available.
  • Assists in writing, reviewing and/or finalizing stability protocols and quotes.
  • Assists in responding to QAU, client and regulatory questions or requests.
  • Ability to coordinate with other business units or outside stability space provides to ensure accurate set down and retrieval of stability samples.
  • Coordinates with Client Service Coordinators to establish or update customer service procedures, as appropriate.
  • Communicate discrepancies to appropriate personnel and assists with problem solving.
  • Responsible for upkeep, entry and accuracy of sample tracking systems.
  • Handles internal customer inquiries.
  • Distributes sample information and paperwork.
  • Introduces and independently develops improvement ideas. Ability to work with others from different areas outside of sample management.
  • Solves problems independently, contacting internal or external clients for clarification as needed.
  • Responsible for training new employees, working with and directing less experienced staff, and prioritizing workloads and/or special projects for the team on a daily basis. Oversee and reviews work of peers.
  • Approved as an authorized environmental system monitor and after hour responder.
  • Communicates confirmation of sample receipt to clients, if appropriate.
  • Promotes and contributes to a cohesive team environment and maintains a positive attitude. Plans individual workload in coordination with team members.
  • Works closely with Client Management and Client Services team to plan and schedule study studies.
  • Manages client relationships
  • Trains less-experienced staff
  • Coordinates efforts of the study team
  • Responsible for client quoting
  • Assists Principal Investigator as needed
  • Other supporting duties as assigned.


Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill or ability required.

  • 4+ years' work experience in related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Customer service skills including: attention to detail, accuracy, confidentiality and communication skills.
  • Ability to use a variety of computer applications and proficient at the department specific software used (NIMS) is preferred.
  • Demonstrates commitment to Excellence in Client Service.
  • Good documentation skills.
  • Effective conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Working knowledge of company procedures for sample receipt, transfer and shipping.
  • Ability to learn new tasks
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems quickly and efficiently
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree (related science field is preferred). Experience may be substituted for education.
  • Computer expertise required.
  • Knowledge of chamber operation and basic understanding of supporting operational systems is desired.

Additional Information
  • Job requires long periods of time sitting or standing at a computer.
  • Must be able to lift approximately 35 lbs. for short periods of time.
  • Expected to understand the process for handling hazardous wastes and receive on-the-job training for handling specific waste types in their job area.
  • Overtime and weekend work as required.
  • Mandatory immunizations and screening as required.
  • Will be exposed to potential food allergens.
