As a Senior Specialist of Architectural Planning, you'll help define program standards and communicate project scope using Best Buy's floor plans, layouts and building design standards. You'll create supporting documentation for construction and contract documents and specifications. These documents serve as the basis for specifications used for permitting activities and construction bidding and execution. You'll coordinate internal documentation used on a site-specific basis and external documentation to address localized site conditions, building codes and other challenges. You'll communicate with internal teams on upcoming business changes and external consultants regarding local or site-specific requirements.

This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work core hours on-site at the Best Buy Corporate office three days a week and virtually from home or other non-Best Buy location the remainder. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.

What you'll do
Understand and uphold Best Buy's standards, prototypical layouts and site-specific documentsDrive and communicate major milestone accountability across multiple locationsCommunicatee risks to leadership and creates mitigation plansEvaluate and make analyses of budgets, project proposals and project completions, using experience from each project to improve future projectionsDevelop and share best practices related to design documentation, material specifications and construction methodologyWork collaboratively with local stakeholders to advance quality improvement and company strategy
Basic qualifications
3 years of drafting, design, planning, architectural or engineering experience3 years of retail experience, including working with store leadership and improving customer experience3 years of experience with AutoCAD/Revit or equivalent drafting or space management
Preferred qualifications
Bachelors' Degree or equivalent relevant professional experienceIntermediate Experience with Microsoft Office Intermediate Experience with Abode Creative Suite
