Job Description:
The company is seeking a highly experienced Senior Estimator to join their team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in public works projects and a proven track record of successfully managing hard bids. This role requires a strategic thinker who can lead a team of 5-6 estimators and work closely with the president of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the estimating team, providing guidance and support to ensure accurate and competitive bids.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for public works projects, including labor, materials, and equipment.
• Analyze project plans and specifications to develop comprehensive bid proposals.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and requirements.
• Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitive pricing.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements.
• Report directly to the president, providing regular updates on bid status and team performance.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in public works estimating.
• Proven ability to manage and lead a team of estimators.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and efficiency.
