Senior Data Operations Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement data quality and observability solutions across a multi-cloud, heterogeneous database environment.
  • Build robust data integration processes from various sources, ensuring consistency and reliability for all data consumers.
  • Drive platform maturity by reducing technical debt and ensuring compliance with platform and security guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the Data Governance team to establish a Data Catalog, Data Dictionary, and an inventory of key data assets.
  • Enforce authorization, entitlement, and access control policies on critical data assets.
  • Build data monitoring and data lineage across our key data assets to ensure visibility and reliability.
  • Help design and implement a Database CI/CD pipeline, supporting application onboarding and streamlining operations.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • A bachelor's degree in information management, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Equivalent work experience is also valued.
  • 8+ years of experience leading data products in large, complex ecosystems.
  • Experience migrating legacy systems to modern cloud infrastructures like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Proven success working in multi-tenant systems with cross-organizational data interfaces.
  • Expertise in transforming large legacy codebases and driving platform transformation.
  • Hands-on experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server) and modern cloud-native data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks).
  • Experience with data orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Dagster) and data transformation tools (e.g., SSIS, dbt).
  • Experience working in a Database CI/CD environment, streamlining deployments and data workflows.
  • Familiarity with data catalog tools (e.g., Alation, Atlan, Collibra) and an understanding of data governance best practices.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical information clearly.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments to align with strategic goals.
  • Working knowledge of modern development methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
  • A strong sense of ownership in developing enterprise solutions from start to finish.

Compensation:

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $175,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $200,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
