Senior Accountant-Non-Profit-Great Opportunity!

About the Role:

Great opportunity for a skilled accountant eager to expand their expertise into the realm of non-profit administration. We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant to manage our accounting records and provide services to a client organization. This role is perfect for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and ready to grow professionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly and annual financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements.
  • Manage journal entries and reconcile ledger accounts.
  • Participate in the annual budgeting process and perform year-end closing procedures.
  • Prepare audit schedules and assist with annual audit fieldwork.
  • Reconcile bank, credit card, and investment account statements.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Monitor cash flow and prepare bi-weekly cash forecasts.
  • Prepare Form 990 schedules and assist with grant budgets and funder reports.
  • Process payroll, retirement plan contributions, and tax returns.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
  • 3 years+ of accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit organization.
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • Proficiency in Excel; experience with QuickBooks preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Federal or state grant management experience is a plus.
Salary: $90K
