Selected candidates with 2+ years of experience may be eligible for a $10,000 sign-on incentive if all qualifications are met including a minimum two-year commitment. ($5,000 sign-on for candidates with less than 2 years of experience). Current UI employees are not eligible.
Responsible for respiratory therapy duties including oxygen and aerosol therapy, administration of specialty gases, application of ventilators, arterial puncture, blood gas analysis, implement patient driven protocols, and other duties as assigned.
*Respiratory Therapists must be a graduate of a Commission of Accreditation Respiratory Care (CoARC) approved program. Percent of Time: Multiple openings ranging from 50-100% (Primary openings from 1900-0730) Salary: Yearly Minimum $51,829 for 100% time (competitive shift differentials for nights and weekends) Benefit highlights:

Required Qualifications: - Graduate of a two or four year AMA approved Respiratory Therapy program, or completion of the requirements to become registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
- Possess a current State of Iowa Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Possess a current CPR certification card.
- Obtain registry from the National Board for Respiratory Care within six (6) months of date of hire.
Desired Qualifications: - Greater than one year of recent ICU level experience.
- Experience with an electronic medical record documentation system.
- Currently registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
