General Description

This is a 6 month (potentially 12 month) temporary Research Scientist I role, onsite in our Burlington, NJ facility.

Role Description

• Test and approve raw materials and finished products. Manage COA databases
• Customer and technical support
• Perform research-related testing
• Manage lab chemicals and supply inventory
• Maintain laboratory hygiene and safety
• Assist R&D manager to ensure local regulations are followed and reporting is submitted, including stormwater maintenance, fire inspection, OSHA 300, and NJ RTK reporting, etc.
• Assist in managing the quality system and ISO 9001 requirements.
• Update safety data sheets and labels as required, coordinating with the corporate compliance group. Communicate changes to Purchasing.
• Assist with creation and review of IPC marketing content when needed.
• Complete all safety and application training.
• Other duties as assigned by the R&D manager

Work Experience Requirements

• Experience in chemical laboratory environment is required
• Basic understanding of local regulations and regulatory requirements
• Formulation knowledge of industrial specialty chemicals, particularly emulsion technology, cleaners, and metalworking fluids
• Technically proficient and pleasant demeanor when working with coworkers and customers
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Skilled in multi-tasking; including the ability to be flexible and adapt to changes quickly

Education Requirements

• Without experience, technical, associates, or college degree in chemistry, life science or related field required. College or advanced degrees in scientific fields preferred.
