We are looking for Growing Media Regional Quality Engineers to join our Growing Media Quality team.

The Regional Quality Engineer will assist the Regional Technical Services Manager with the quality of Growing Media and Mulch Products.

What you'll do in this role:

• Execute strategy and projects identified by Technical Services Manager.
• Prepare for and conduct audits and trend analysis, facilitate problem resolution within assigned region
• Point of escalation for regional plants to solve problems encountered in manufacturing
• Works with multifunctional teams including: Field Biology, Process/Formulation, Regulatory, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Packaging/Durables Development to commercialize new/improved products/processes.
• Communicates results in written reports and periodic oral presentations to R&D and Operations.
• Participates in the development of plant trial protocols and plant trials of new processes and new products,
• Provide technical advice, training and support for regional QC technicians
• Perform all project tasks in compliance with corporate Environmental, Health, and Safety principles
• Assist plant leadership with quality issues, helping to identify root causes, evaluate findings, and implement corrective actions.
• Assist in identifying and qualifying new raw materials and suppliers.
• Review raw material, component, and product specifications on a regular basis to ensure alignment between plants, suppliers, co-packers, Corporate Quality, and R&D.

What you'll need to be successful:

• BS in Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Science or related field
• History of team oriented problem solving.
• Ability to travel up to 30-40%
• Familiarity with basic methods of experimental design and statistical data analysis
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills and teamwork
• Results driven, highly-motivated individual
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multitask, while being attentive to detail
• Exceptional problem solving skills Excellent computer skills
• Networking skills to build support system and seek out new technologies
  

The starting budgeted pay range for this role will generally fall between $75,000.00 - $88,200.00 per year. Scotts will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.
