Job Description Summary
The Receiving Clerk is responsible for the efficient day-to-day inbound carrier verification process as directed by the Supervisor. They must ensure that drivers have been properly identified and all receiving documents are complete and accurate. The following duties and responsibilities are intended to be representative of the work that may be performed by the incumbent(s) in this position and are not all-inclusive. Schedule/Shift: 1st Shift | Mon - Fri | 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Leading schedules for all inbound live loads by coordinating with suppliers.
- Will need to operate within ERP systems (JDE & SAP) and WMS Körber.
- Communicating with Welcome Center to ensure door assignments for receiving loads are aligned.
- Check in all containers established parameters.
- Control inbound flows.
- Perform container security check to confirm all safety/quality standards are met.
- Record door/yard assignments into the yard management system and direct drivers to accurate yard locations.
- Confirm paperwork accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in supervising and reporting data pertinent to receipt/dispatch.
- Communicate any inventory discrepancies that cannot be resolved to Inventory Control for further investigation.
- Engage quality department when loads have potential damages, holds, or when loads have issues preventing systemic receipt without resolution in 48 hours.
- Become knowledgeable with the responsibilities of the other warehouse positions. Assist as required. Act as back up at times of absence or vacation.
- Associates are responsible for performing their job activities in a safe and reasonable manner and in accordance with safety requirements.
- Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse and conduct all activities in a manner that promotes a safe environment.
- All injuries, accidents, unsafe acts, hazards or conditions must be reported immediately.
- Report any suspicious persons or activity.
- Maintain a clean and professional image.
- To ensure the cleanliness of the facility, follow guidelines as outlined.
- The associate must maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area always.
Educational Qualifications & Previous Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- 2-3 years of relative experience
Professional Skills & Key Proficiencies
- Must have basic PC experience with good data entry skills
- Must be familiar with basic MS Office: Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint.
- Must be detailed.
- Ability to perform basic math.
- Ability to read and write reports.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills to include communication skills, verbal, written and team building.
- Must have good organizational skills.
- Must have good analytical skills.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to manage and report on multiple projects at one time.
- Ability to perform/operate in a metrics-driven environment.
Desired / Additional Skills & Knowledge
- Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions in Basic English.
- Must be able to perform basic mathematical computations and apply to various operational tasks.
- Position requires good logic and reasoning ability. Ability to define problems and find logical solutions.
- Must evaluate and resolve daily issues by exercising good judgement.

During the performance of this job, the employee may be in hot and humid locations, near moving mechanical parts, high places, risk of electrical shock, work with explosive gas, toxic and caustic chemicals, or experience loud noise (maintenance shop, forklift equipment, and construction). Must be willing work "off" hours, as required. Additionally, must be able to work with minimal supervision.
