Position Overview

This is an Entry-Level position that will require the employee to operate multiple pieces of equipment in our quarry environment. This position will be responsible for the safe operation of various equipment including haul trucks, loaders, track hoes, excavators, and more. Additional duties as needed due to workload, vacations, or employee leaves.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Examine equipment parts for damage and/or excessive wear, perform minor servicing and maintenance of equipment; refer major problems to the Foreman.
  • Clean material from rail cars that are being returned
  • Check the material being loaded for quality
  • Able to retrieve and write rail car numbers down accurately
  • Load haul trucks, and customer trucks, feed the portable plant, stockpiling and loading bins, shoveling and cleaning
  • Work will be performed per the supervisor's instruction, and in some cases, will be expected to be performed free from direct supervision without a compromise or sacrifice to safety, and without sacrifice to, quality of work tasks
  • The job duties described herein are not exhaustive and may be supplemented
Qualifications

Education/Experience
  • Minimum high school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements
  • Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
  • Must be a reliable and trustworthy individual that will be a team player.
  • Must maintain good attendance and safety record.
  • Must be productive during each shift and be willing to meet the goals that are set.
