JOB SUMMARY

The Quality Engineer is responsible for managing the Non-Conformance Reporting (NCR) process, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and maintaining effective communication with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. This role involves conducting investigations, initiating corrective actions, and collaborating with various departments to address quality issues.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Work independently and is reviewed infrequently with minimal supervision
  • Able to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers as well as with all levels within the organization.
  • Organization and project management skills.
  • Conflict resolution skills.
  • Problem solving using the 8D and 5-Why methodology.
  • Personal Computer skills including the use of MS Office, Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing skills
  • Possess the ability to prepare/present data in a scientific reporting format.
  • Demonstrated professionalism when dealing with internal staff as well as customers, suppliers, etc.
  • Previous experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably automotive or industrial manufacturing. Automotive OEM experience is a plus.
  • Ability to interact effectively with Customers, Suppliers, and various departments in the organization.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field. Specializations in quality, manufacturing, or industrial engineering are
  • Industry experience: 3-5 years of experience in quality engineering, quality assurance, or a similar role.
  • Possess/Develop a strong understanding of: Core Tools (APQP, SPC, MSA, FMEA & PPAP), Control Plans/Process Flows, Root Cause Analysis/Practical Problem Solving.
  • Knowledge of blueprint reading, drawing interpretation and GD&T.
  • Working knowledge of the ISO/TS 16949 quality management system.
  • Broad knowledge of Quality systems, statistical tools and techniques and quality KPI's
  • Working knowledge of hand gauges and other testing equipment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Normal amount of sitting and standing; Ability to move around an office environment and on the production floor; Ability to work at a computer workstation; Ability to bend, twist, lift, reach. Ability to lift max. 40lbs periodically.
