Veritiv's Internship Program will provide real world experience, team projects, social events, volunteer work and professional development trainings. The internships are full-time, hybrid and run June 2 to August 8, 2025.
Job Purpose:
Our Procurement/Indirect Sourcing Intern will help identify a business category opportunity utilizing analytical skills and multiple systems. This role will assist with developing a category strategy, complete request for proposal, analyze the results and implement them to drive cost out and to standardize supplier selection and performance.
Job Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with multiple internal customers on projects and presentations.
• Identify opportunities to streamline process improvements.
• Take ownership of a project and then assist other team members to support company initiatives.
Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications:
• Assist in managing a specific Indirect Category by sourcing goods and services, including but not limited to equipment, services, software, and hardware.
• Help develop and implement a category strategy collaborating with the organization.
• Participate in a various of responsibilities pertaining to the vendor management process including but not limited to vendor negotiations, performance and contract development.
• Create a collaborative environment for the selection of key vendors for your assigned category.
• Help conduct RFP/RFQ.
• Provide market analysis.
• Negotiate contracts terms and performance metrics to drive value to Veritiv.
• Pursuing a general business, supply chain, marketing, management or economics degree is preferred.
• Must have a high level of integrity, energy, and leadership ability.

• Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently.
• Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills are required.
• Must be highly motivated, flexible and deadline driven.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong planning and organization skills are required.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail skills are required.
• The ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
Education:
• Bachelor's Degree In Progress
