Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Steel Arkansas is seeking applicants for the position of Process Engineer with a focus at the EAF. Principal duties of the successful candidate will include but is not limited to:
- Participating in safety and housekeeping efforts.
- Leading process optimization activities, both quality and cost.
- Providing technical support and training for all operational activities.
- Utilizing statistical process control tools to direct continuous improvement activities.
- Working closely with operations and maintenance teams to ensure continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering or Chemical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Experience of at least 1 year working with an electric arc furnace in a steel mill.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of steel manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems used at the EAF.
- Experience with coordinating and executing trials, dispositioning material, reporting data, and improving quality.
Must have supervisor and/or manager recommendation and must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
