Job Summary:

The Patient Communications Specialist is a key member of the Marketing and Communications team responsible for developing, producing and distributing patient communications that support all aspects of an exceptional patient experience by ensuring that all written, verbal and digital communications with patients and their loved ones or family members are delivered in a manner that is clear, respectful, effective, accurate and consistent with the organizational brand and voice of the customer input. The Patient Communications Specialist, reporting to the Director of Marketing and Brand Experience, takes the project management lead on specific patient communication-related project requests and partners with stakeholders throughout the organization to deliver on them. With Director and Senior Patient Communications Specialist, supports the development, implementation and maintenance of the system-wide patient communication model, including the management of intake and maintenance databases. Demonstrates excellence in communications, analytic abilities, project oversight, customer service standards and follow-through with clients and colleagues. Other duties as assigned.

Other information:

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

3-5 years experience in patient communications, health care marketing or consumer communications is required.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Bachelor's Degree marketing, communications, public relations or journalism is required.

SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

Demonstrate solid execution/project management experience.

Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience with written, web and digital communication channels.

Strong organizational and time management skills required.

Able to work independently or with a group.

Ability to work well with executives, leaders and other health care clinicians.

Ability to interact well with internal and external customers and make sound judgments in a variety of situations.

SPECIAL SKILLS PREFERRED:

Work with content management systems, Epic, databases is preferred.

Work with digital technologies, including mobile applications is preferred.

Experience in incorporating voice of customer feedback in work preferred.
