The Audio team's mission is to create virtual sounds that are perceptually indistinguishable from reality and redefine human hearing. If you are excited by working on this ambitious goal, then keep reading further.As an Operations Program Manager (OPM), you will be a critical member of the team and work closely with a multi-disciplinary group of research teams to ensure that key operational needs are met to enable our ambitious team goals. You will work with researchers, engineers, technical program managers, and other cross-functional teams including product, legal, finance, HR, operations, and facilities to build impactful relationships, serve as a dependable point of contact, and ensure Audio team's operational needs are met. To do this, you will need a blend of project management, financial acumen, clear communication, and operations rigor to collaborate cross-functionally and drive team-wide operational initiatives. To be successful, you will be eliminating barriers to your team's success, clearly communicating their work to all stakeholders, and ensuring the big picture stays in focus while diving into the details on specific issues for timely resolution.

Operations Program Manager - Audio, Reality Labs Research Responsibilities:

  • Budget management: drive maximum utilization of Opex and Capex budget across multiple initiatives and programs within the Audio team. This includes facilitating regular team-wide budget reviews, working with the Finance team for reporting, improving internal budget management tools, and continuously improving the budgeting processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Information systems: ownership and accountability for continuously improving our underlying information management and communication systems, including workplace groups, access groups, team Wiki, Google drives, and team-wide calendar.
  • Lead a small team of Operations CWs that support a consolidated set of operations focused services, including (1) hardware operations focused on device inventory management and device shipments, (2) procurement of tools and devices through internal and external providers, (3) logistics support for team events such as RLR Symposium, (4) onboarding and off-boarding processes across the organization.
  • Strategic operational projects: proactively identify, lead, and measure success of high-impact operational projects to improve core areas that span the entire team on a regular basis, with alignment and buy-in from Audio team leaders.
  • Drive quarterly operational reviews with Audio leadership and establish mechanisms for operational excellence.
  • Enable effective internal and external communication, including live-streaming for critical team-wide events, documented playbooks for self-service, supporting team-wide meetings, etc.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in relevant field such as Business Administration or Operations Management.
  • 3+ years of budget management experience, including driving cross-team allocation, forecasting, tracking actuals, and improving reporting for leadership reviews.
  • 3+ years of operations management experience in a matrixed environment, including documenting and improving processes with clear success metrics, building playbooks for scaling operations, driving operational effective initiatives across multiple teams, and ensuring change management.
  • Demonstrated project management experience, including ensuring cross-functional projects and tasks are completed on time, driving and aligning priorities, communicating status, risks, and mitigations to stakeholders.
  • Experience leading a small team of temporary contract workers / vendors.
  • Track record of operating independently, being detail-oriented, and delivering results in a highly organized manner.
  • Interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration within a diverse, cross-functional team.
  • Critical thinking/analytical leadership experience.
  • Proven team player adaptable to a fast-paced environment.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters or equivalent graduate degree.
  • Experience managing projects with remote or distributed teams.
  • Experience working with teams developing hardware and software solutions.

$94,000/year to $136,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
