Job Description:

The Nebraska State Patrol is looking for a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual. If you are ready for that career, come join our team!

Work extensively with the Nebraska Records and Management System (NRAMS) by being a committed member of the NRAMS support team. Assist with of the National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS) monthly validations and reporting to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) through the Nebraska Crime Commission. Assist with maintaining the integrity of record information within the NRAMS program by completing monthly reviews of the data entered into the NRAMS RMS system. This will be done by ensuring case information is entered correctly each month. Assist Internal Affairs as needed with data entry and miscellaneous duties. Assist as needed with records management projects and research. Assist NSP officers and administrative personnel with the management of NRAMS records. Assist the NSP, law enforcement, governmental and military agencies as well as the general public with records management.

Requirements / Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: Coursework/training in administrative/office support functions, procedures, and methods including the operation of personal computers and office equipment; research; or areas related to the programs and functions of the employing agency, OR experience in performing administrative/office/secretarial support work including use of personal computers and office equipment.

Other: Regular and reliable attendance is expected. If selected for this position, you must meet the U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services employment eligibility requirements by completing an EEV (I-9) Form. The agency does not sponsor H1-B Visa's. Must successfully complete an extensive background screening prior to being employed which includes completion of a Personal History Questionnaire. Applicants will be screened for a record of criminal activity and criminal history using a fingerprint-based check, and before unconditional employment is offered. Applicants must be free of felony convictions, and cannot maintain continuous association or dealings with persons, groups, or organizations that they know, or should know, are persons or groups or organizations under criminal investigation or indictment or who have a reputation for present, ongoing involvement in felonious or criminal behavior. Selection process will include an interview.

  • The program-administrative work assigned to the position
  • Sources of information pertinent to the assigned work
  • The principles and practices of record keeping
Ability to:
  • Formulate and recommend alternative courses of action to meet agency and operational goals and objectives
  • Communicate in person and by telephone, computer, email, or correspondence to exchange information and ideas
  • Summarize technical data and results of research and monitoring activities into reports
  • Understand and apply instructions and program-administrative policies and directives
  • Implement decisions made and take actions selected by others to achieve work objectives, performance goals, and priorities
  • Learn the organizational structure, mission, and activities of the employing agency
  • Learn agency policies and procedures pertinent to the work assigned
