SUMMARY:
Repairs and maintains machinery and equipment such as motors, conveyor systems, and injection molding machines and equipment by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Observes equipment in operation and evaluates potential problems for future repairs.
- Dismantles equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts.
- Adjusts function parts of equipment and control instruments.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts.
- Installs special functional and structural parts in equipment.
- Lubricates and cleans parts.
- Starts equipment to test their performance.
- Set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to repair or make spare parts.
- Repairs electrical equipment.
- Dismantle hydraulic cylinders valves and components and rebuild by replacing worn parts. Locate and repair hydraulic leaks.
- Replace motors, repair and troubleshoot motor controls.
- Trouble-shoot and repair electric motors.
- Replace conveyor belts by removing and disassembling conveyors.
- Develop cost savings ideas.
- Install and set up molding machinery.
- Must be able to work mandatory overtime. The regular schedule for this position exceeds 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEOne year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentage.
REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 58 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
