About the Position
We are seeking a Landscape Architect to join our growing PLACE (Planning & Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering) team in the Metro Atlanta area. The ideal candidate possesses a minimum of nine (9) years of experience inclusive of detailed landscape and hardscape design on a variety of public and private projects. The successful candidate will lead design efforts, mentor junior staff, and manage a variety of project types. Additionally, as part of PLACE's leadership team, the candidate will interface with clients, pursue opportunities, serve as a thought leader, and help Pond's brand in the Atlanta region.
Baseline Job Requirements
- Approximately, 9 to 12 years' experience working in a design studio environment - multidisciplinary environment preferred.
- Maintains an active landscape architecture license.
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Strong knowledge with relevant drafting/design software, such as LandFX, SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Rhino, and Lumion.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook.
- Strong technical understanding of construction means and methods, materials, building codes and code research.
- Strong design sense and ability to scale level of design based on client and available budget.
- Experience writing technical specifications is preferred.
- Experience developing a wide range of project scopes and budgets is preferred.
- Experience managing and mentoring staff is preferred.
- Experience participating in public engagement efforts is preferred.
- Construction Observation / Administration experience is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to lead presentations.
- Willingness to learn and be coachable.
- High level of creativity, innovative thinking, and problem solving.
- Willingness to collaborate and work in a team setting.
Role may include:
- Providing quality control on a wide range of projects.
- Collaborating with multiple disciplines and within different programs.
- Managing staff workflow and supporting team growth.
- Teaching and assisting others in computer design programs.
- Initiating and creating design concepts with a responsibility to present internally and externally.
- Leading and documenting construction observation site visits.
- Leading permit efforts on behalf of clients.
- Developing and reviewing technical specifications as needed.
- Leading and/or participating in public meetings.
- Monitoring project progress and financial health of projects.
- Developing and reviewing letter proposals and competitive proposal packages.
- Attending and participating in conferences.

Additional Information Many factors are considered when determining compensation at Pond, including scope and level of position, geographic location, candidate skill, knowledge and experience. Starting base pay may vary depending on these factors. We anticipate filling this position as a Landscape Architect III with a salary range of $65,600.00 - $99,800.00 .
