JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership and training to accomplish production objectives to all employees for Safety, Quality and Production.
- Coordinates production activities with other departments to ensure production goals/objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Working closely with supervisors, top management, and employees within Mauser to help enforce safety policies.
- Works with operations team to ensure vacancies are covered for any planned/unplanned.
- Establishes and monitors shift performance for safety, quality, and production standards.
- Enters production data accurately into system in order to measure and monitor KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) around efficiencies, downtime, inventory and overall production.
- Updates communication boards to keep production floor team members informed about safety, quality and efficiency metrics. Leads employee start-up meetings
- Conduct Safety checks and inspections to identify unsafe and/or hazardous practices; recommend corrective measures to be taken to avoid accidents.
- Report Safety incidents to EHS
- Transport employees for medical care
- Develop and manage safety records

- Manage all safety reporting, i.e training records, accident reports, investigation reports etc.
- Drive the implementation of safety policies.
- Drive Safety Committee that will ensure the safety of workers within Mauser.
- Ensure that safety standards and procedures are followed.
- Intervenes unsafe activities or operations being carried out by employees within the workplace
- Works with other team members to control and improve efficiencies, minimize labor overtime, downtime and repair expenses. Implements cost effective systems around this as necessary.
- Manage all time/attendance and discipline
- Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates Degree or Bachelor degree in engineering or operations management preferred.
- 3 years supervisory experience in manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification a plus
- Previous Labor Relations experience
- Previous experience working in a Lean environment; Embraces continuous improvement
- Self-directed team player
- Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus, but not required.
- Flexibility to work multiple shifts including overnights, weekends and holidays as needed.
