Volt is immediately hiring a Landscape Estimator in beautiful Santa Barbara, Ca to become a vital part of a creative and skilled team. This amazing career opportunity is with an award-winning residential landscape construction company, renowned for creating some of the most esteemed gardens in Santa Barbara.

Full-Time/ Direct Hire

Flexible Schedule! (Adjust start and end times as needed),

Compensation: $75k - $105k Base Salary + Benefits

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.

Important to Note: While this role involves some site visits and field inspections, the majority of your work will be desk-based. This position is ideal for those who excel in analysis, planning, and coordination rather than those who prefer fieldwork.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in estimating with a strong background in landscape construction, including grading, drainage, planting, irrigation, lighting, and hardscape.
  • Excel Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for analysis and reporting.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and Windows operating systems.
  • Driver's License: Valid for site visits and inspections.
What You'll Do:
  • Analyze & Estimate: Dive into landscape plans, perform detailed take-offs, and convert specifications to determine the materials, labor, equipment, subcontractor requirements, and costs needed for accurate estimates.
  • Ensure Compliance: Guarantee that all estimates for labor and materials meet specifications, timelines, budgets, and profit margins.
  • Source Materials: Identify and select the best materials, vendors, sub-vendors, and subcontractors to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with Supervisors to ensure projects are installed according to the bid specifications.
  • Site Visits: Conduct site inspections, maintain quality control, and attend necessary meetings to ensure project success.
  • Client Service: Provide complete, accurate, and timely service to clients, vendors, and staff with efficiency and courtesy.
  • Process Change Orders: Manage and process change orders for ongoing projects as required.
  • Meet Deadlines: Prioritize tasks effectively to meet established deadlines.
