GPI Geospatialis seeking a Project Manager for our Orlando, Miami, or Tampa, FL office. You will be responsible for training and technical oversight of staff and ensure projects follow the scope of services. In addition to the administrative duties, the Project Surveyor will perform complex surveying tasks involving decision-making, computations, and adjustments.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Delivering quality survey project data, and ensuring it meets state and local requirements
  • Assisting Survey Manager with project resourcing and scheduling
  • Ensuring quality assurance of surveying data from survey fieldwork
  • Monitoring production and project schedules and report status to Survey Managers
  • Performing complex survey control computations, boundary/right of way resolution, and topographic mapping from conventionally surveyed and remote sensed data
  • Effective communicator with production staff
  • Ensuring staff is adequately trained to carry out project assignments
What You Bring to the Table:
  • AAS or BS degree in Surveying or Geomatics preferred
  • Five plus years of experience as a Project Surveyor
  • Licensed Florida Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM) is a plus
  • Knowledge of FDOT Surveying and Mapping Procedures
  • Experience using MicroStation, Geopak, and AutoCAD Civil3D with FDOT Standards
  • Sound experience in survey control, topographic, and right-of-way mapping
  • Demonstrated expertise in project/phase management for large-scale public-sector survey projects is preferred
  • Promote an organized, timely, and safe work environment

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
  • Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
  • Able to traverse a construction job site consisting of uneven ground varying in height and consistency of material, with a variation of elevation 19" or less (mud, gravel, rutted ground, etc.)
  • Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working
  • Able to move equipment or inspection specimens weighing up to 50 pounds
