The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics department of Pathology is seeking a Laboratory Technician II to: under general supervision, performs difficult technical procedures and allied duties related to the function of a service laboratory; maintains laboratory area and equipment. Performs a variety of laboratory tasks related to processing specimens, computer/clerical duties, routine lab maintenance, and supply distribution. This position will be Monday - Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm.
Duties to include:
• Accessions, handles, and triages specimens for Surgical Pathology.
• Uses laboratory equipment.
• Demonstrates effective communication skills.
• Follows department and laboratory policies.
• Prepares reagents and chemicals.
• Performs other projects and tasks as assigned.
