Position Title: Insurance Risk Manager
Location: Dallas, TX (Hybrid)
Your role
Digital Realty the largest global provider of cloud- and carrier-neutral data center, colocation and interconnection solutions with 300+ data centers, in over 27 countries is seeking an Insurance Risk Manager to support its growing global insurance program & captive operations. Reporting to Vice President of Enterprise Risk (administratively) and Director, Insurance (functionally), the Insurance Risk Manager will support the effective and efficient management of Digital Realty's global insurance program. This will require significant consultation with internal stakeholders throughout the company and coordination with external stakeholders.
Seeking candidates with 6+ years of global risk management experience or similar experience with insurance company/broker, along with bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business, or related quantitative field is preferred. Risk Management certifications are a plus. Will consider other degrees based on relevant risk management work history & certifications.
What you'll do
- Support the assessment, monitoring and reporting of the company's hazard risk profile
- Provide input into and support for a strategy to manage the company's hazard risk profile
- Provide input into recommendations for insurance and related products and services
- Provide input into recommendations for insurance brokers and other external providers
- Establish and maintain relationships with insurance brokers and other external providers
- Provide input into and support for the placement and renewal of insurance coverages
- Support the administration of programs for surety bonds and construction insurance
- Support the insurance claims process and actively manage multiple insurance claims
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to manage and resolve insurance issues
- Support the global planning, budgeting, allocation and control of insurance coverages
- Support the timely processing and payment of invoices for the global insurance program
- Support the governance and operation of the company's self-insurance vehicle (captive)
- Support mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures (JVs) from due diligence to integration
- Review, discuss and advise on contractual provisions related to hazard risk and insurance
- Support the collection of certificates of insurance with internal and external stakeholders
- Provide advice and guidance from a technical and professional perspective, as necessary
- Support the integration, review and continual improvement of the global insurance program
- Maintain complete, accurate and timely records relating to the global insurance programs
- Delegate responsibilities and provide direction to other team members, as appropriate
What you'll need - 6+ years of professional risk management experience at a global publicly traded company, global real estate advisory/investment companies, or insurance company/broker - providing services in similar contexts is preferred. Experience with complex property insurance placements, global insurance programs, or construction insurance programs is a plus.
- A bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business, or a related quantitative field is preferred. Risk Management professional credentials is a plus. Additional years of relevant experience along with industry certifications maybe considered in lieu of preferred degree.
- Strong verbal, analytical, presentation, writing, team building problem solving, negotiation, conflict resolution, project management and leadership skills; demonstrated ability to lead through influence as well as authority.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel PowerPoint, Teams, & Sharepoint)
- Self-starter, with the sound judgment and demonstrated ability to make decisions (within authority) and follow through to achieve objectives with limited oversight.
