Title: Instructor, Surgical Technology - 9/10 Month (Term)
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction in an equitable environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach courses via on-ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced delivery modes as assigned. Work with course leads and/or program coordinators/directors to ensure consistent and equitable student experiences. Utilize the college's learning management system to provide course materials to students. Submit updated department syllabi prior to the first day of class. Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the registrar. Provide academic advising to students with an emphasis on retention and success. Remain current in the teaching area(s) through appropriate professional development activities. Regularly check NSCC email and departmental mailbox.
Respond to emails/messages within 24 hours except on the weekend. Complete all required reports such as student engagement, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions; administer and return surveys and student outcome assessments by the required deadlines. Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the registrar. Work with students as academic advisor as assigned. Comply with all college and TBR policies and guidelines. May perform other duties as assign by the Campus Director/Academic Dean.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree.
Current Surgical Technology certification.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
At least two years' experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist.
Bachelor's degree in a Health-related field.
Central Sterile Processing certification.
Prior work experience at a community college.
Prior academic teaching experience in a health care field.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge and/or experience using a variety of instructional delivery modes. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of confidentiality statutes and policies as they apply to FERPA and HIPPA.

Rate of Pay: $43,006.00 - $53,758.00 depending on experience
