Job Summary
Supervises activities of associates engaged in incoming inspection and inventory control of raw materials and packaging materials for conformance to quality standards; ensures adherence to all safety policies and procedures; assists in developing training programs; may perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
1. Plans and coordinates work assignments by prioritizing flow of work, coordinating with upstream and downstream functions, and adjusting resources as needed.
2. Assigns daily work to inspectors based on production schedules, maintaining efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
3. Maintains records of inspection activities, including non-conformances, rejects, and rework required.
4. Interprets blueprints, drawings, and written specifications.
5. Conducts periodic audits of inspection activities to ensure compliance with established procedures.
6. Ensures documentation of inspection results is complete and accurate.
7. Trains new inspectors regarding policies, procedures, and techniques used in inspection.
8. Maintains familiarity with products manufactured in area of responsibility.
9. Keeps abreast of changes in technology, equipment, and facilities that affect or improve inspection processes.
10. May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education/Training:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate's degree preferred.


Experience:
  • Minimum two years related experience in inspection or manufacturing.
  • Three years' experience in supervision or management preferred.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Knowledge of product and process specifications.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and written specifications.
  • Ability to operate basic measuring instruments.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Basic computer literacy.


Working Conditions:
  • Frequent exposure to fumes, odors, and noise.
  • Occasional exposure to dust, dirt, and grease.
  • Work environment conditions include temperature extremes, moving machinery, and high humidity.
