JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a Home Loan Processing Specialist to join our Farm Credit Family! This position provides quality customer service by obtaining necessary documentation for underwriting the loan file, ordering third party documentation, and communicating directly with the customer and/or home loan originator to obtain necessary documentation, and provide proper disclosure as required by local, state, and federal regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Home Loan Processing: Process mortgage loan applications including data entry, gathering customer information, credit verifications and document prep all within consumer compliance rules. Order credit reports, title, flood, and appraisals. Communicate with attorneys, insurance companies, and investors to obtain efficient closings. Submit mortgage loan application file for underwriting approval. Ensure closing documents are keyed and in compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Customer Support: Provide customer service to home loan originators, customers, external vendors, and loan investors. Update the loan originators on the progress of the loan file in an efficient, accurate manner. Contac the loan originator or the borrower to obtain any missing documents.
  • Professional Development: Participate in continuous learning activities to sustain knowledge of the industry and Association policies, procedures, and guidelines. Assist with special projects as assigned.

  • Requirements:
    • Education and/or experience equivalent to an Associate's Degree
    • 3-5 years of loan related administrative work, customer service, or paralegal related field
    • Good knowledge of general office routine and use of office equipment, including phones, computers, copiers, and scanners
    • Ability to communicate effectively with team and branch contacts
    • Self-motivated with the ability and desire to learn and willingness to apply new procedures and concepts
    • Completes routine tasks accurately and timely
    • Effective, basic, and efficient computer/technical skills and use of Microsoft Office programs
    • Demonstrated organizational skills
    • Has robust follow-up system to ensure loan support administration and follow-up
    • Ability to work independently and on a team with minimal instruction
    • Ability to travel overnight as needed for learning and development activities
    • Knowledge of Farm Credit Association policies and procedures preferred
