Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Histotechnician with a minimum of 3 years of experience to join our dynamic pathology team. The ideal candidate will possess HT or HTL certification and demonstrate expertise in histology techniques, laboratory practices, and quality control. This role is essential in providing high-quality histological services to support our clinical and research initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Tissue Preparation: Perform all aspects of tissue processing, including fixation, embedding, and sectioning, ensuring high-quality microscopic slides for diagnostic evaluation.
• Staining Procedures: Execute routine and special staining techniques, including immunohistochemistry, to highlight tissue morphology and pathology.
• Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality assurance protocols to ensure the accuracy and reproducibility of histological results.
• Equipment Maintenance: Regularly calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Documentation: Accurately document all procedures, results, and any deviations from standard operating procedures (SOPs) in compliance with laboratory regulations.
• Collaboration: Work closely with pathologists and laboratory staff to ensure timely and accurate processing of specimens.
• Training: Mentor and train junior staff and students in histology techniques and laboratory practices.
• Compliance: Adhere to all safety and regulatory guidelines, including OSHA and CLIA standards, to maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications:

• Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in histotechnology or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a histology laboratory.
• Certification: HT (Histotechnician) or HTL (Histotechnologist) certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in histological techniques, including microtomy, embedding, and various staining methods.
• Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and document procedures.
• Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a laboratory setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with molecular histology techniques.
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS).
