YOUR ROLE

The Regional Head of Ground Product Development (GPD) Manager's core purpose is to support and sustain the profitable growth of the ground product in line with budget ambition and the overarching ground strategy. This includes growth across all the ground product lines through day-to-day collaboration with the Business Development teams and customers as required. Management of the profitable growth includes close collaboration with the ground product management and ground business development team in support of strategic growth in target sectors within our Century and Elite customer segments.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

Improving Return on Sales Investment

  • Collaborate with Regional BD Leadership and drive the development and/or deployment of new processes and solutions within their geographic area of responsibility
  • Addressing and responding to critical resolution or escalation items that represent a risk to the business within ground business line for customers within the Century & Elite business segments; oversees the resolution of daily or less sensitive conflicts on strategic accounts
  • Alignment with the business development Account Owner(s) and the ultimate customers on Account Strategy including commercial approach to best position CEVA
  • Support business development Account Owner(s) & local operations on pricing requests
  • Direct engagement with business development (Century & Elite) Account Owner(s) and the underlying customer(s) for all key Ground opportunities
  • Together with local management - operations and BD create a clear action plan on customer attrition for the Century & Elite customer segments with corrective action plans
  • Strategic support on large RFQ's thru GTM team/process: strategic alignment and sign off together with account managers and respective P&L owner
  • Support the pricing process on general business rate requests, led by pricing team
  • Develop and present pricing & solution proposals including cross regional alignment on strategy and engagement to create a uniform CEVA approach to commercial opportunities

Develop commodities and/or product expertise
  • Drive commodity specific growth aligned with country/cluster market requirements in line with ground budget ambitions
  • Establish specific roadmaps for commodities and/or country/cluster markets
  • Design tailor made presentation aligned to local market/cluster in collaboration with the local pricing and product management teams
  • Provide educational material, including trainings and point of sale material, to both BD and operations on market intelligence including potential disruptions to customer supply chains
  • In collaboration with other product development team members, namely Ocean & Air, support in cross product solutions to grow the respective business lines and further strengthen our end-to-end product offering to strategic accounts

Client Engagement:
  • Support Account Owners with:
  • Early engagement with customers to understand their challenges and use that knowledge in our strategic approach to RFQ responses
  • Consultancy Services in Ground Freight
  • Individual Transport Solution Design Support - Either on upcoming requests or pro-actively proposed
  • Account Development Plan Setting as per customer business development, and CEVA's growth ambitions
  • Joint customer calls, meetings with country/cluster BD team
  • Weekly Collaboration with assigned KAM & RKAMs to vet pipelines and coordinate customer engagement

Ground Product Training
  • Support BD Pipeline Expansion through customer assessment exercises and market potential screening
  • Product Training on North America Ground Product Services to the GKAM & RKAM community

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Degree in logistics or equivalent working experience
  • 7 years' experience in Senior management within Ground
  • Deep understanding of Ground Product offerings in North America
  • Proven track record in leading the development and implementation of Ground business strategies
  • Experience in driving collaboration across a regional organization
  • Leading and developing teams and sourcing talent for Ground
  • A strong and entrepreneurial spirit in Ground freight
  • In-depth knowledge of the North American logistics industry
  • Deep expertise in developing integrated supply chain & logistics solutions
  • Process driven and always seeking for continuous improvement
  • Mature judgment and decision-making
  • Computer Literacy and a good understanding of Excel and relevant analysis
  • PowerPoint proficient
  • Sophisticated interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating the ability to influence and develop relationships at the highest level in customer organizations
  • Ability to develop highly collaborative and productive relationships internally
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal)
  • Preferred:
    • Post Graduate business qualification, including an MBA
    • Over 10 years' experience in a Senior management in the freight forwarding business
    • 5 Year experience in a Commercial role
