CobbFendley is seeking a Utility Technician in our Miami, Florida office.


QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate’s most important qualifications include the following.

• Entry level or experienced Field Technician (full-time) with a general understanding of utility locating methods such as fiber, coax, copper cable experience, a plus but not required.
• Entry Level or experienced Field Technician with general understanding of above ground features associated with Telecom and Broadband facilities.
• Mark up drawings with utility location information at Level A, B, C, & D precision (where relevant)
• Motivation to work in a changing environment with critical deadlines.
• Desire to collaborate with technical and non-technical personnel.
• Increase your industry knowledge through on-the-job training to advance your career.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Must operate and maintain company equipment and vehicles.
• Work near or on active construction sites.
• Train to meet company safety standards and OSHA requirements.
• Locate underground utilities with nondestructive techniques such as pipe and cable locator, and vacuum excavation.
• Pole asset inventory, measurements, identification of all pole attachment.
• Maintain a professional attitude and fulfill responsibilities with integrity.
• Travel is a mandatory requirement of the role as assigned. The percentage of travel will fluctuate based on business needs and at times may account for 40% of the time worked. Travel includes to other offices or project sites throughout the US.
• Work with minimal supervision and deliver accurate work product that is error free.
• Adhere to CobbFendley’ s safety standards to uphold a safe and efficient environment.
• Assist with Asset inventory and Manhole mapping
• Maintain a professional attitude and fulfill responsibilities with integrity.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Physical mobility in and around construction sites, traffic work zones, and other field assignments
• Alert and responsive while working in lane closure zones adjacent to high volume average daily traffic
• Ability to carry equipment and supplies in remote, rural, or urban surroundings
• Ability to lift to 50 pounds and walk long distances
• Walking and climbing on uneven surfaces
• Driving for extended periods of time
• Repeated motions (e.g., reaching, bending, stooping, carrying, lifting, pushing, pulling, and handling)
• Sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time
• Mobility within the office including movement between floors and workstations
• Repeated motions (e.g., typing, reaching, bending, lifting, and carrying)
• Communication with other employees and clients

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

• Exposure to indoor and outdoor environments (approximately 80% of duties to be performed outdoors in the field and 20% performed indoors in the office/warehouse)
• Ability to withstand extreme weather conditions (i.e. hot and freezing temperatures)
• Use of electric power tools, cutting tools and other equipment
• Driving large pick-up trucks with attached trailers (if applicable)
• Potential watercraft use
• Noise exposure
• Exposure to allergens including but not limited to poison ivy, sumac, dust, pollen, cedar, etc.
• Entering confined spaces
• Exposure to construction and traffic work zones
• Extended periods of Personal Protective Equipment use

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

• This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM EST.
