The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of Primary Care for all ages and genders. Additional expertise in Hospital Medicine, Obstetrics, Addiction Medicine or Sports Medicine is welcomed based on availability of positions, but not required for all roles. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. Candidate should be Board certified in Family Medicine; Fellowship training or CAQ optional based on individual candidate.
Teaching responsibilities may include participation in the education of Family Medicine residents, medical students, and interdisciplinary learner teams.
Clinical responsibilities may include outpatient care in a busy academic practice, caring for a racially and gender diverse patient population. Based on the individual candidate, optional roles may include rounding on the adult medicine inpatient service, supervising labor and delivery, coverage of sports medicine-specific sessions and LGBTQ-focused primary care.
Candidates are not required to participate in research or scholarship, however are welcome to collaborate with faculty within the university.
Candidates should have a passion for teaching Family Medicine residents and students and have a strong demonstrated commitment to addressing health disparities in marginalized communities.
