POSITION SUMMARY
Working across the GMS campus, in a GMP environment, the General Contractor is responsible for maintaining the sites facilities, including general maintenance, upgrades, remodels and repairs, managed through the onsite work order system through SAP.
- Performing maintenance, repairs, improvements, and modifications to production areas, specific utilities, facility equipment, mechanical equipment/spaces, office areas and grounds.
- Heavy carpentry in remodeling/upgrades to existing areas across the site including painting, drywalling, tiling, carpeting, general repairs, light plumbing/electrical, light masonry/epoxy work.
- Furniture assembly, movement, light carpentry as needed.
- A valid drivers license is required for this position in order to operate company vehicles.
- Must be able to pass the test to obtain a Fork Lift license.
- Possess good understanding of the pharmaceutical/bio-technology industry and operations of the organization along with technical proficiency.
- Demonstrated knowledge in relevant technical areas. Solid understanding of GMP manufacturing processes, equipment and facilities.
- Good communication and organizational skills as well as the ability to interact with all levels of the Zoetis organization. Can articulate issues and solutions to the team. Can produce effective project reports and presentations.
- Can analyze problems and provide support in determining appropriate corrective and preventative actions, with minimal assistance.
- Capable of simultaneously managing multiple assignments. Prioritizes own work. Flexible and responsive to changes.
Shift Hours: 6:00AM-3:30PM
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- 10+ years of experience in general contracting. Experience in general contracting preferred in GMP environment.
Physical and Time requirements:- Use of appropriate PPE is required.
- Ability to work in tight spaces for extended periods of time.
- Regular daily motion of bending, twisting, reaching.
- Ability to climb ladders and or use powered lifts to reach equipment needing repair.
- Ability to be on one's feet for extended periods of time.
- Travel between campuses as work orders arise.
- Able to lift 40lbs unassisted.
- Responsible for obtaining and maintaining aseptic certification (Gowning requires balancing for short time on one leg to the next).
